Sydney Uni Swimmer Matt Abood has produced SUSC’s best result of the 2010 Telstra Australian Swimming Championships, finishing 4th in the Mens 50m Freestyle on Day Three.

Abood finished in a time of 49.80 and will race tonight in the semi finals.


Gordon Willis, David Wise, Dylan Curtis and Zane Jordan also competed in this event, finishing 45th, 52nd, 56th and 64th respectively.


There was also success for SUSC in the Women’s 100m Butterfly, with Emma Gray qualifying for her second semi final of the meet – finishing 15th in a time of 1.02.13.


Kate Johnson, Armony Dumur and Gemma Johnson also took part in this event, finishing 24th, 42nd and 47th respectively.


Donald Cameron was SUSC’s only competitor in the Men’s 200m Backstroke – he finished 30th in a time of 2.09.45.


Last night Sam McConnell and Jono Newton finished 12th and 13th respectively in the Mens 50m Butterfly semi finals. Both of their times (24.83 and 24.95) were narrowly outside their heat swims.
