Five Sydney University Lions have been selected for the National Water Polo League Women’s All Star game to be played at Waves Pool, Wodonga on Monday April 6.

Goalkeeper Lea Yanitsas, drivers Keesja Gofers and Bronte Halligan, left-hander Isobel Bishop and centre back Hannah Buckling will play in the game which will feature on the final day of the girl’s Under 14 National Club Championships.

Selection for this game is attributed to the performances of players for their respective clubs throughout the National League season.

Aussie Stingers coach Greg McFadden said, “The All Stars game gives us an opportunity to bring the Aussie Stingers together for               another training camp, and with this year’s game being just three weeks from the FINA World League rounds, it will also                                 be a final chance for selection.”

The men’s All Star game will be played at Gold Coast Aquatic Centre also on Monday April 6. The game will take place on the final day of the boy’s 14 & Under National Club Championships.

In the absence of the Australian men’s senior team, who will be competing at the FINA World League rounds, the Australian Junior Men’s team will play a NWPL invitational team, that will also include some junior Australian men, but will be highlighted by a number of experienced European players from the NWPL.

Lions goalkeeper Anthony Hrysanthos and centre back Keegan Wicken have been named in the Australian Junior men’s team for the game.
