Sydney University will
have nine players in the two Sydney AFL representative teams to play this
weekend.

The Sydney AFL senior team
will play the powerful Victorian Amateur Football League (VAFA) at Elsternwick
Park in Melbourne on Sunday 13th June, commencing at 1.15pm.

In that side, Sydney
University captain Mark Egan, Alex Lee and Sam Crichton will feature in the
final 22.

Former Sydney Uni player
Dave Pattison will travel as the team physio and Brett Pettersen as part of the
coaching staff.

The game represents the
rare chance for local players to wear the State jumper at open age level. In
recent years, the Sydney AFL has been more than competitive in matches
involving the Canberra AFL and VAFA as well as AFLQ.

The Sydney AFL Under 23
team will travel to Wagga to participate in the NSW Regional Championships
playing representative teams from the other competitions around NSW.

Jack Lawson, Jack
Caspersonn, Tom Elkington, Tim Barton, Mitch Thompson and Jesse Martin
have been selected in the travelling party.

Adam McConnochie and Ben
Mankarious were also selected in initial training squads however were
unavailable for selection in the final teams.

The selections are reward
for the club’s excellent form thus far in 2010 and recognise the outstanding
performances of these players.

Ten of the eleven selected
in the squads are SUSF AFL Scholarship recipients and eight of the eleven are
under 21 years of age – ten of eleven under 24 years of age.
