Brydens Sydney Uni Flames suffered a painstaking loss over the weekend as the battled powerhouse the Townsville Fire in Townsville. Playing on Sunday afternoon, the game was competed in sweltering conditions resulting in the Flames falling to the grand finalists of 2014 by 32 points.

The Sydney Uni Women’s Water Polo team has taken out the L1 summer metro premiership after competing at Sydney University Sports & Aquatic Centre over the weekend.

The Brydens Sydney Uni Flames had a round of ups and downs over the weekend, but it was just enough to edge the team back into the top four. The Flames took a biting fall by three points to the UC Canberra Capitals on Thursday night before managing a victory at home against the Melbourne Boomers on Saturday.

Running back Alex Watson received the 2014 MVP award at the Lions Awards function held at the King Street Brewhouse on Sunday. Watson was the mainstay of the Lions’ ground attack, rushing for 1,669 yards and 18 touchdowns on the season.
