Sydney University Soccer Football Club’s Under 20 and Under 18 sides moved through to the semi-finals of the NSW Men’s NPL3 competition with elimination finals wins at Arlington Oval on Saturday.

After a close loss to the powerful South African combination on Sunday, Sydney University was playing to stay alive in the Red Bull Campus Cricket Finals in Sri Lanka when it faced Pakistan’s Jinnah Government College on Monday.

After arguably their best NEAFL season to date, Sydney Uni are forced to wait another year for an attempt at a coveted Grand Final appearance. Their 16.19 (115)- 12.11 (83) loss to the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba last weekend, meant the Students season came to an end one week early.

What’s on this weekend (September 8-11) in Sydney University sport.

At NSW Half Marathon Championships held on the weekend at SOPAC, the Sydney University Athletic Club (SUAC) dominated both the Men’s and Women’s team events in fine fashion.

The University of Sydney finished third overall at the Snow University Games in Thredbo, NSW, with students delivering strong performances across a number of events. 

Five Olympians combined together in an attempt to break four world records on the erg. This was all done in memory of the late Sarah Tait, herself an Olympic silver medallist and stalwart of the Australian rowing team. 

Sydney University’s run in the NEAFL competition came to an end at the Gabba on Saturday when they lost 115-83 to the Brisbane Lions in their minor semi-final.
