Five athletes of the University of Sydney delivered some outstanding results in their respective events on Day 7  2018 Commonwealth Games yon the Gold Coast.

Sydney University runner Joshua Ralph missed a finals berth in the men’s 800m by .33sec when he ran third in his Commonwealth Games heat at the Carrara Athletics track on the Gold Coast this morning.

Sydney University athlete Ian Dewhurst finished third in his heat of the 400m hurdles at the Carrara Athletics Track on the Gold Coast this morning but was tipped out of a berth in the Commonwealth Games final by .45sec.

Sydney University Athletics Club member Anneliese Rubie has qualified for a berth in the semi-finals of the women’s 400m at the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast.

Sydney University commenced their 2018 campaign with a 36-12 victory against the always tough Parramatta Two Blues. Under glorious cloudless skies, the young University fifteen came out to feel the need for speed as the ball was moved to all boundaries of the ground.

Brydens Sydney Uni Flames Belinda Snell and Katie Ebzery have their eyes set on gold at the 2018 Commonwealth Games after the Australian Opals won three from three in the women’s preliminary pool rounds, defeating Mozambique, Canada and England. 

Sydney University opened the 2018 Shute Shield rugby union season with a clean sweep over Parramatta, with First Grade overwhelming the Two Blues 36-12 at the Football Ground on Saturday.

Sydney University Athletics Club member Nicholas Hough has qualified for a berth in the final of the men’s 110m hurdle at the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast.
