ROAR has been nominated for the NSW Sports Media Award in the NSW Sports Federation Annual Sports Awards for 2009.

Produced by Sydney Uni Sport & Fitness, the magazine contains features on Sydney Uni’s elite athletes and sporting clubs, columns by external sports writers such as Aaron Scott, health and fitness advice from SUSF’s personal trainers, and general information about sports clubs, short courses and sport and recreational programs.

ROAR represented by Ross Xenos and Shari Wakefield is a finalist along side of Rob Kothe from Sail-World.com, Samantha Derrick from WIN News and Tony Peters – Football Stars of Tomorrow (Football NSW).

‘The Awards’ recognize and reward achievements and outstanding contribution towards the sports industry in NSW in 2009.

The field of 2009 finalist in all 18 categories is most impressive and includes the likes of Craig Alexander, Stephanie Gilmore, Dani Samuels, Kurt Fearnley, Jarryd Hayne, Phillip Hughes and other outstanding athletes, teams, coaches, officials, volunteers, administrators and organisations.

The winners shall be announced at The Awards Dinner which shall be held on Thursday, 18th February 2010, at the Waterview in Bicentennial Park (Sydney Olympic Park).
