Sydney Uni Sport athletes Hugh McAdam, Rose Hocking and Keisha Tickle have capped off the 2026 domestic snowsports season with strong performances across ski cross and alpine racing.
From repeat podium finishes at Mt Hotham to competing on the Australia and New Zealand Cup (ANC) alpine circuit, the trio gave the University of Sydney plenty to celebrate.
Keisha Tickle, who is supported through Sydney Uni Sport’s High Performance Pass, was a consistent performer in the women’s ski cross competition at Mt Hotham. Across three days of ANC racing, Tickle finished second in all three races, securing a place on the podium each time.
With Kyra Wheatley taking victory in each event, Tickle’s three runner-up finishes marked a strong series against the leading competitors.
Joining her on the podium was Rose Hocking, a member of Sydney Uni Sport’s Elite Athlete Program (EAP). Hocking claimed two third-place finishes across the three races, ensuring a strong Sydney Uni presence in the women’s competition.
In ski cross, athletes race head-to-head over a course featuring turns, jumps and rollers. Success requires speed and technical skill, alongside the ability to make quick decisions while navigating the course with other competitors.
Fellow EAP athlete Hugh McAdam recorded an 11th-place finish in giant slalom at Mt Hutt, New Zealand. The result placed McAdam among the Australian athletes highlighted in Snow Australia’s season wrap.
Weather and snow conditions disrupted the ANC alpine calendar, with the Thredbo events unable to proceed. Racing went ahead at Mt Hutt and Coronet Peak in New Zealand, where 11 of the 16 scheduled events were completed.
For Sydney Uni Sport, these results are an opportunity to recognise athletes competing in demanding disciplines, and the preparation and commitment that underpin their performances.
Congratulations to Hugh, Rose and Keisha on their achievements throughout the season. We look forward to following their progress on the snow.
