A brilliant display at the NSW Senior State Short Courses Championship has delivered 13 gold medals and second place in the overall club standings.
A powerhouse weekend in the pool has seen the club’s senior swimmers return from the 2026 NSW Speedo Senior State Age Short Course Championship with an extraordinary 47 medals.
Racing against some of the best young swimmers in NSW, the team collected 13 gold, 23 silver and 11 bronze medals during three days of intense competition at Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre from August 21-23.
The outstanding medal haul helped the club secure second place in the Overall Club Pointscore, underlining the strength and depth of its senior squad.
Leading the charge was Thomas Penny, who turned in a remarkable eight-medal performance.
Penny won three gold, four silver and one bronze medal across a demanding program, establishing himself as one of the club’s standout competitors at the championship.
Charlotte Bowner was also in superb form, claiming three gold medals and one silver from her four podium appearances.
Maddie, Alex, Jacinta, Edi and Maya joined on the top step of the podium, each earning the title of NSW state champion with a gold-medal performance of their own.
With medals secured across the three-day program, the team remained firmly in contention for the club pointscore throughout the weekend.
Its eventual runners-up finish was a reward for far more than the podium result alone. The results also reflect months of training and sacrifices, by both swimmers and coaches.
With 47 medals overall, seven individual gold medalist and second place overall,it is an exceptional result, and one that confirmed the club as a major force in NSW senior swimming.
