Sydney University Hockey Club member, Elite Athlete Program alumna and University of Sydney graduate Alice Arnott has been selected in the Hockeyroos squad for the 2026 FIH Hockey World Cup, earning the opportunity to represent Australia at one of international hockey’s biggest events.
Arnott, who completed a Bachelor of Health Science and a Master of Public Health at the University of Sydney, has continued to establish herself as a key member of the Australian women’s hockey program through consistent international performance.
Her selection is another significant milestone in an already impressive career and reflects years of dedication to the sport. Having developed through the Sydney University Hockey Club while balancing the demands of elite hockey and university study, Arnott now prepares to compete against the world’s best as Australia targets World Cup success.
The 2026 FIH Hockey World Cup will begin on 15 August , with the Hockeyroos aiming to challenge for their first World Cup title since 2002. The tournament will bring together the world’s leading hockey nations in what promises to be one of the most competitive editions of the event.
Arnott’s selection continues Sydney Uni Sport’s proud tradition of producing athletes who excel on the international stage while pursuing their studies, and the entire University community will be cheering her on as she represents the green and gold.
Congratulations to Alice on these outstanding achievements, and best of luck to the Hockeyroos at the 2026 FIH Hockey World Cup.
