We are proud to celebrate the selection of three Sydney University Rugby Clubs representatives in the Wallabies squad for the upcoming July Nations Championship Tests.
Angus Bell, Nick Champion De Crespigny and Harry Potter have all been named in Joe Schmidt’s 37-player squad, which will take on Ireland, France and Italy during the July international window.
The trio’s selection is another outstanding achievement for Sydney University Rugby and reinforces the club’s reputation as one of Australia’s premier high-performance rugby programs.
Angus Bell, a Sydney University Rugby Club member, continues to cement his place as one of Australia’s premier front-rowers. Already an established Wallaby with 50 test caps, Bell’s inclusion provides further experience and leadership to the national squad.
Joining him is Nick Champion De Crespigny, a Sydney University alumnus, Elite Athlete Program (EAP) graduate and SUFC member. After progressing through Sydney University’s rugby and pathways before establishing himself professionally in Europe and Super Rugby, Champion De Crespigny has once again earned Wallabies selection following an impressive season.
Also selected is Harry Potter, another Sydney University alumnus, EAP graduate and SUFC member. The dynamic outside back has continued his rise in Australian rugby with consistent performances, earning another opportunity to represent the Wallabies on the International stage.
The Wallabies will open their July Nations Championship campaign against Ireland in Sydney on 4 July, before facing France in Brisbane on 11 July and Italy in Perth on 18 July.
Congratulations to Angus, Nick and Harry on this well-deserved achievement. From everyone here at Sydney Uni Sport, we wish them the very best as they pull on the gold jersey once again.
