A massive congratulations to our SUAC athletes on an incredible weekend of performances at the 2026 National Athletics Championships, held 9–12 April at Sydney Olympic Park!
Our members achieved countless personal bests and an exceptional haul of national titles and medals from Mackenzie Little, Austin Little, Rohan Browning, Nicola Olyslagers, Liam Adcock, Michelle Jenneke, Cameron McEntyre, Coco Espie, Sarah Clifton Bligh, and Mark Everett — plus a new club record from Chris Ius in the 200m.
Medallists:
- Mackenzie Little captured her fifth consecutive Australian title in the Women’s Javelin, throwing 58.76m in a stacked field.
- Austin Little earned bronze in the Men’s 110m Hurdles, producing a season’s best of 13.75.
- Nicola Olyslagers soared to her seventh straight Australian title, clearing 1.99m and coming close to 2.02m with three near-misses. Teammate Alex Harrison finished a strong 7th.
- Michelle Jenneke claimed her fifth national title in the Women’s 100m Hurdles with a superb 12.74 — heartbreakingly close to the Commonwealth Games qualifier of 12.73.
- Liam Adcock successfully defended his crown in the Men’s Long Jump, leaping 8.26m on his second attempt — edging closer to the World Athletics Ultimate Championships qualifier.
- Cameron McEntyre secured his third national title in the Men’s Javelin with a huge 77.32m throw.
- Rohan Browning sprinted to bronze in the Men’s 100m final with 10.19, joined by Chris Ius (7th, 10.36) and Joseph Ayoade (9th, 10.50).
Other standout performances:
- Chris Ius broke the SUAC club record in the Men’s 200m, clocking a blistering 20.26 for 4th — the fastest ever 200m run on Australian soil. Joseph Ayoade also impressed with 21.13 (8th).
- Alyssa Lowe finished 5th in a tightly contested Women’s Long Jump, jumping 6.18m with the final standings decided on the last attempt.
- Ben Bishop, returning after illness, smashed his personal best in the 3000m Steeplechase with 9:07 (5th), closely followed by Joe Burgess (6th, season’s best).
- Paige Campbell ran strongly from lane 8 in the Women’s 200m final, finishing 7th in 24.98.
- Youngster James Harden continued his development, placing 9th in the Men’s 400m Hurdles (52.24).
- Tali Baltineshter also competed in the Women’s Javelin, finishing 7th overall in a highly competitive field.
