The Sydney Uni Swimming Club (SUSC) is one of the best and most successful clubs in Australia. SUSC has had many Australian swimmers compete for the club: Sarah Hilt, Elka Graham, Brett Hawke, Chris Fydler, Michelle Engelsman, Matt Dunn, Scott Miller and Phil Rogers and William Yang.
SUSC’s vision is to ‘Empower young people to be champions, in and out of the water, for a lifetime’
SUSC encourages all members to enjoy swimming as a sport and to enjoy being part of a successful and happy team of dedicated athletes. SUSC caters for all ages starting from five years and up competing at Club, Area State and National level.
Swim Club holds 8 Saturday afternoon club meets throughout the summer long, and winter short courses as well a a Club Championship meet. Potential new members are welcomed to trial a free meet (up to 5 events). Contact [email protected]

Sydney Uni Sport (SUS)
Delivers all swim programs – learn to swim, all squad training, coaches, enrolments, and performance development
SUS handles:
- Coaching staff and session delivery
- Squad structure and swimmer progression
- Enrolments, payments, and booking system
- Training expectations, attendance, and conduct
- Athlete development and support (especially for Uni students)

Sydney Uni Swimming Club
Official Swimming NSW-affiliated club
All swimmers are registered through the Club to compete in official meets and team events.
The Club handles:
- Competition registration via Swimming NSW
- Entries for sanctioned meets
- Intervarsity and Uni Games participation
- Social events, relays, merchandise, and club community

While swimmers of all ages are welcome, our program has a strong focus on supporting University of Sydney students—helping them balance academics, training, and competition at the highest level.

Sydney University Performance Hub Swim Team
The aim of the Sydney Uni High Performance Team is to give athletes the chance to continue their sporting pursuits while furthering their education, providing the right balance in life, now and for the future. These athletes have the opportunity to eat, train and sleep at Sydney Uni with annual scholarships offered through our Elite Athlete program. A number of positions are also available for external applicants. The Varsity Swim Program caters to Sydney Uni students and Age Group Alumni swimmers who wish to maintain connection with the water, but not necessarily complete.
Sydney University Varsity Swim Squad
This squad offers Sydney University Aged Athletes (18+) the opportunity to train with their peers in a competitive and non-competitive environment relevant to their goals and aspirations.
We have current and Alumni USYD athletes preparing for international competitions, through to former high school athletes continuing to train for fitness and well being. 5 ‘student friendly’ sessions are available. Tuesday 4:30-6pm, Wednesday 7-8:30, Thursday 1:30-3pm, Friday 7-8:30am, Saturday 7-8:30am.
This squad cost is $65 monthly, largely funded by the Student Services and Amenities Fund and operates within semester time only.

Membership & Club Activities
Membership is open to swimmers from 5 years of age.
2025 – 2026 season fees are:
- $128.70 for all competitive swimmers (Age and Open)
- $91.31 for club only swimmers
- $50.48 for non-swimmers (parents/guardians : For Junior and Age competitive swimmers, one parent/guardian membership is required per family. This provides insurance cover, voting rights, and helps support the smooth running of our club activities.)
Discounts for additional family members.
Membership covers the swimming year from the 1st October to 30th September. Membership & Competitive entries are processed through Swim Central
SUSC is affiliated with Metro South East Sydney Area and SUSC membership includes registration with Swimming NSW and by affiliation, Swimming Australia.
Membership enables the swimmer to compete in District/Area and Swimming NSW approved events/competitions, in addition to SUSC run activities.
SUSC is run by a Management Committee which is elected at the Annual General Meeting in May of each year.
