Former SUSF Elite Athlete Program (EAP) scholarship holder Jessica Fox won her third and fourth gold medals of the 2013 ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup over the weekend, creating history with a dominant performance in Tacen, Slovenia.

Fox qualified for the final of the women’s C1 in fine style, over seven seconds ahead of her nearest competitor, before continuing her excellent form in the final to win her third C1 gold medal of the World Cup.

Fox won despite incurring a four second time penalty during her run, with fellow former scholarship athlete Rosalyn Lawrence being edged out of the medals to finish in fourth.

Not content with just taking gold in the C1 Fox then created history when she won gold in the women’s K1, becoming the first woman to win C1 and K1 gold at the same World Cup meet.

Fox edged Corinna Kuhnle by a mere 0.34 seconds to re-write the record books, with Lawrence finishing ninth.
