Penrith Whitewater Stadium hosted four thrilling days of competition from April 24 to 27 as paddlers from across the nation battled it out at the 2025 Canoe Slalom Nationals Championship. Athletes ranged from juniors to Olympic medallists, making it one of the premier domestic events on the Australian paddling calendar.

USYD and EAP alums were among the top performers:

  • Noemie Fox claimed gold in the Women’s Canoe (C1) and secured podium finishes in the Women’s Kayak (K1) and Kayak Cross Event.
  • Tim Anderson earned silver in Men’s Kayak (K1)
  • Declan Ellis took silver in the Men’s Canoe (C1)

Jessica Fox, a former University of Sydney student and a past recipient of the Blue of the Year award, dominated the Women’s Kayak (K1) and Kayak Cross events, securing two gold medals.

“The event ran smoothly thanks to an incredible volunteer effort, and it’s great to see so much talent”, said organiser Julie Curtin.

With the domestic season concluded, Sydney Uni’s elite athlete paddlers now shift their focus to the international stage, including the 2025 ICF Slalom World Championship this September.

From everyone here at Sydney Uni Sport, we congratulate all our EAP athletes and alums on their outstanding performances!
