Sydney Uni Sport is proud to celebrate an extraordinary milestone in Australian Water Polo. Keesja Gofers has made her 350th Australian Water Polo League game appearance and is one of two females to reach this incredible milestone.
A Lion since her junior days, she rose through the ranks to become the heart and soul of the women’s program. With her AWL debut in 2005, she has now completed an astonishing 19 seasons at the top level- a beacon of consistency, class and commitment to Sydney Uni.

“I’m incredibly proud to have played 350 AWL games for Sydney Uni, And to be able to play that game at our home pool was very special. I definitely don’t remember what happened in every one of those 350 games, win or loss, or every goal or block or assist. But what will stay with me for a long time, even after I’ve finished playing, is the friendships I’ve made and the community at Sydney Uni. A big thank you to everyone that made my 350th game so special and all the people who made playing for the Club so enjoyable I just kept going back again and again … and again.”
Keesja’s impact spans every level of the game – from grassroots to the global stage – and she has long been a role model for young athletes in and beyond the Sydney Uni community.
