Sydney University Elite Athlete alumni’s Luke and Jayden Schofield delivered standout performances at the Australian Sprint Championships during the 2XU Triathlon Series in Elwood. Luke claiming the national title, and Jayden finishing in third.

Luke powered his way to victory in the men’s race, outpacing a competitive field to take home the championship crown. His tactical approach, along with that of his twin brother Jayden, proved instrumental in his success.

“I’m pretty stoked”, Schofield said after the race”. It was a perfect race; the venue was brilliant. Sprint champ, that’s a pretty cool title to the name”.

Reflecting on the competition, he highlighted the challenges of the course and the strategic moves he and Jayden executed.”The swim was a little bit choppy and messy- many people were around us. But I came out of the water towards the front. The bike was pretty full on. Jayden and I played some sneaky tactics and did some attacks just to make it a little spicy”.

Jayden Schofield’s third-place finish marked another impressive result for the Sydney University alumnus. It demonstrated the depth of talent within the University’s sporting ranks and reinforced the strength of the University’s Elite Athlete Program.

Luke and Jayden continue to make their mark on Australian triathlons with their latest performances, and we look forward to watching their progress throughout the year.
