Sydney Uni Sport proudly celebrates the achievements of Hugh McAdam, Vincent de Souza, and Luke Irving, who represented Sydney University at the 2025 FISU World University Winter Games in Bardonecchia, Turin, Italy.
Sydney Uni’s Hugh McAdam, a member of the Elite Athlete Program (EAP), excelled in Alpine Skiing with two top-15 finishes:
- Men’s Slalom – 9th place out of 106 competitors
- Men’s Giant Slalom – 13th place out of 113 competitors
In Cross-Country Skiing, Vincent de Souza took on two endurance races:
- Men’s 10km Individual – 76th place out of 99 competitors
- Men’s 20km Individual – 59th place out of 70 competitors
Luke Irving delivered a solid performance in Ski Cross, finishing 11th out of 20 competitors. His agility and skill in one of the most unpredictable events demonstrated his competitive edge.
These athletes have made Sydney Uni proud, highlighting the strength of our winter sports talent and the support of the Sydney Uni Elite Athlete Program. Their achievements will inspire future student-athletes to strive for excellence.
