Having just played in Australia’s three-match clean sweep over New Zealand in the Women’s T20 cricket series, Sydney University all-rounder Phoebe Litchfield will now participate in her first T20 World Cup.
The Australian women’s team will strive to become the first team, men or women, to claim four consecutive T20 World Cup titles when they head to the United Arab Emirates for the 2024 event from 3-20 October.

Shawn Flegler said. “Phoebe is a real X-factor for us and will be well supported by an experienced group at her first World Cup.”
A left-handed batter and occasional right-arm leg-spinner, Phoebe plays for the NSW Breakers in the Women’s National Cricket League and the Sydney Thunder in the Women’s Big Bash League. She’s studying for a Bachelor of Communications in Media Arts and Production playing her club cricket with Sydney University.

She made her Big Bash debut as a 16-year-old in 2019, scoring 26 runs off 22 balls, and backed that up in her second match for the Thunder by becoming the youngest player to make a half-century in the WBBL.

Phoebe was named in the Australia A squad for a series against England A in 2022 also in the Australian T20 squad for a series against India as well as the Australian One Day International squad for a series against Pakistan later that year.
In March 2023, she was named in Australia’s Test squad for the Ashes series against England and made her Test debut in on 22 June 2023, The following month Phoebe scored her maiden white-ball century, with an unbeaten 106 against Ireland. The World Cup awaits.
