Sydney University Water Polo Club members, Keesja Gofers, Matilda ‘Tilly’ Kearns, Sienna Green and Sydney Uni student Sienna Hearn, have been selected in the 13-strong Australian women’s team to compete at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

Keesja, who graduated from Sydney University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Design in Architecture, was a former recipient of the Blues Scholarship and Blues Association Scholarship. She co-captained the Sydney University Lions to win the National Water Polo League title in 2016. Having made her Aussie Stingers debut in 2010, she now has 208 international caps.

Tilly joined the Lions as a junior and was selected to compete in the 2016, 2017 and 2018 FINA World Junior Championships before going to study at the University of Southern California where she scored 29 goals in her freshman year in 2019. She has competed for the Lions and USC since then.

After winning an Australian Water Polo League title with the University of Sydney Lions in 2021, Sienna Green captained the national under-18 team, before earning her first cap for the Australian women’s team, the Stingers, against Canada in March of 2022. Sienna served as captain and was the highest goal-scorer of the Australian team at the 2022 FINA World Women’s Youth Water Polo Championships in Belgrade, Serbia.

At the 2022 FINA World League Intercontinental Cup in Peru, Sienna Hearn made her senior national team debut for the Aussie Stingers. After strong performances in the Australian Water Polo League, she was in the Stingers squad for the 2024 World Championships where Australia finished sixth. Away from the pool, Sienna is studying Education at the University of Sydney.
