The students bounced back from their first round loss to Sydney Rangers with a 70-run win over St George-Sutherland in their Sydney women’s premier competition limited overs clash at Glenn McGrath Oval on Sunday.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, Universities amassed 191 off 49.1 overs, with openers Shebani Bhaskar (62) and Maddy Darke (42) proving the decision to be spot on.

Bhaskar shared a 90-run stand with Darke and a 64-run partnership with No.3 Kate Owen (33) to push the total along.

Universities then rolled St George-Sutherland for 121 off just 29 overs, with spinner Emily Mifsud collecting career-best figures of 6-28 off her six overs. She now has 94 wickets for Universities in all grades.

Universities will meet Campbelltown-Camden in a Round 3 match at Raby Oval on Sunday, October 30.
