Sydney University Football Club’s Tom Robertson became capped Wallaby 898 when he took the field in the 60th minute of the Test against Argentina at NIB Stadium, Perth, on Saturday.
Robertson, a specialist tighthead prop, had been selected in the 23-man squad for the Rugby Championship match and didn’t disappoint during his 20-minute cameo in the 36-20 win. He became SUFC’s 104th capped Wallaby.
The 22-year-old, who is studying medicine full-time at Sydney University, made his Waratah debut this year and has been training with the Wallaby squad since the end of the Super Rugby season.
He was one of four SUFC players in the squad for Saturday’s Test, with blindside flanker Dean Mumm, inside-centre Bernard Foley and fullback Israel Folau in the starting line-up and halfback Nick Phipps on the bench. Phipps replace man-of-the-match Will Genia late in proceedings.
