Sydney University’s First and Second division rugby league sides will contest Tertiary competition semi-finals at Norford Park this Saturday.

Third-placed Sydney University will take on Western Sydney University Ducks in the Division One Tertiary Championship minor semi-final, kicking off at 2.45pm.

The major semi-final will between minor premiers TAFE Western Sydney Polecats and second-placed Balmain UTS Tigers.

The Polecats won 13 of their 16 competition matches to finish on top of the table on 53 points, with the Tigers (49), Sydney University (42) and ACU (38) making up the top four. But ACU were stripped of 18 competition points for breaching the laws and fifth-placed WSU Ducks were elevated.

The Division Two Bill Buckley Memorial Trophy minor semi-final will be between Sydney University and Balmain UTS Tigers, minor premiers University of Canberra Grizzlies taking on TAFE Western Sydney Polecats in the major semi-final.

The Grizzlies only lost one game in the competition proper to head the table on 56 points, with the Polecats (47), the Tigers (41) and Sydney University (33) making up the top four.

First Division: Australian Catholic University 24 defeated Sydney University 22 at Henson Park on Saturday.

Second Division: Australian Catholic University 50 defeated Sydney University 20 at Henson Park on Saturday.
