The Sydney Uni Athletics Club (SUAC) Junior women’s cross country team secured their first Winter Premiership on the weekend, with a win at the NSW Short Course Cross Country Championships.

The team of Jess Pascoe, Sarah Marvin, Beth Croft and Emily Augustine put on a dominant display finishing 1st, 2nd, 4th and 6th. The win was their second of the season having won the NSW Cross Country Championships earlier in the season.

The Open men’s team was also successful, beating home rivals Randwick Botany harriers in the open 7.5km event. The men’s team sit second on points in the men’s premiership with two events remaining. In the open women’s race, SUAC finished 3rd and are clear leaders in the hunt for the winter premiership with two rounds remaining.

The overall NSW Winter Premiership champion is decided by a cumulative points total earnt over the winter season from 1 April to 30 September.

The next event in the Open winter premiership is the NSW Half Marathon Championships to be held Sunday 28th August.
