Sydney Uni has started off strong on the first day of competition at Eastern Uni Games in Wollongong. Consisting of 170 students, the Sydney Uni Team is looking to improve on their 2015 performance in Wagga Wagga.
With the first day of competition completed, Sydney Uni has posted great results across the board in all sports. Every sport recorded at least one win throughout the day, many completing the day undefeated. Stand out performances were made by Ultimate Frisbee, Women’s Basketball and both Mixed and Women’s Netball who boasted extravagant wins against their opposition.
The day also saw many close rival match-ups, with the Women’s Volleyball team going down in a close game against Macquarie University 2 sets to 1, while Women’s touch crossed the line in the dying minutes to take out the win against the University of Canberra, 4-3.
Sydney Uni will look to take the momentum from Day 1 into today’s games as competition builds towards finals. Today we see tough games for our futsal women and squash teams, while many teams look to secure good pool placement in a run for the finals.
