Sydney University Football Club has four players in the 23-man squad to meet England in the opening Cook Cup Test at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane, on Saturday night.
Halfback Nick Phipps, five-eighth Bernard Foley and fullback Israel Folau have been named in the run-on squad for the first of the three Tests, with lock/backrower Dean Mumm named on the bench.
Phipps (39 caps) and Foley (27 caps) have formed a stable halves combination through Sydney University, NSW Waratahs and Wallaby ranks, while Folau, with 38 caps, can also play wing and outside centre.
Wallabies head coach Michael Cheika has named three debutants in the starting side, with Brumbies lock Rory Arnold, Queensland Reds centre Samu Kereviand Western Force utility back Dane Haylett-Petty making their debuts at Test level.
“This team of 2016 has a great opportunity to build on the foundations in place,” coach Cheika said.
“We have a good mix of new blood and players who have been connected to the group for some time and the energy and enjoyment within the group has been excellent.
“The work ethic and application of every player in the squad shows just how much the Wallabies jersey means to each of them, and these 23 players know they represent the group when they run out on Saturday.”
The team will be captained by hooker Stephen Moore, who will be playing his 103rd Test.
