Sydney Uni Soccer Football Club President, Ross Xenos, and Sydney Uni Sport & Fitness (SUSF) Executive Director, Robert Smithies, have today announced that Brydens Lawyers have signed on as the Exclusive Platinum Sponsor of the Sydney Uni Soccer Football Club and specifically for the advancement of the Women’s National Premier League program.
“It is a terrific coup for our Club to have Brydens come on board as our Exclusive Platinum Sponsor” said Xenos. “This is the biggest sponsorship in the history of the Club and we’re really excited to be formally associating ourselves with an organisation like Brydens, who not only share our values but also are equally passionate about our future success.”
Smithies stated that Brydens was now the biggest supporter of Clubs at SUSF and, together with their sponsorship of the Brydens Sydney Uni Flames in the summer months, had year-round coverage at The University: “To have Brydens extend their reach within the SUSF portfolio of sports is a huge win for SUSF and for the Soccer Football Club. We have been blessed to have such a great relationship with Brydens as part of their wonderful sponsorship of the Brydens Sydney Uni Flames and as our naming rights sponsor for Brydens stadium, Brydens dojo, Brydens Boxing Gym and the Brydens Group Fitness studio. Lee Hagipantelis has backed our sports program extensively already and this opens up a new chapter of that relationship. ”
Brydens Lawyers’ Principal, Lee Hagipantelis, said the sponsorship consolidates the firm’s support of sport at The University of Sydney, his alma mater, and that of the founding partner of the firm, Ian Bryden. “We are thrilled to be taking on the sponsorship of the Sydney Uni Soccer Football Club and to be connected with, and supporting, the Women’s National Premier League team is a great continuance of our investment into elite women’s sport at The University of Sydney. Our relationship with the Flames is wonderful and we’re looking forward to extending our connection through the Soccer Football Club.”
Xenos noted the importance of having Brydens backing the Women’s National Premier League program: “Having won the championship in 2015, the Club broke new ground in female football in New South Wales. In securing this great new sponsorship, our Women’s elite program can solidify its position at the top of female football in this state and continue to be the most attractive destination for those who are committed to pursuing elite football and their studies at the same time.”
Smithies noted that the new grandstand sports facility, which opened last week, will house Sydney Uni Soccer Football Club after many years of having the elite teams play away from the campus. “After many years playing all over Sydney, our men’s and women’s elite teams are about to come home. This is a significant development for the Club and we’re hoping it will make the Brydens Elite Football Program and the Sydney Uni Soccer Football Club the envy of every visiting team.”
SUSF President, Bruce Ross expressed his excitement and noted Brydens dedication to women’s sport and the Soccer Football Club.
“We are extremely fortunate to have signed a major sponsor with a very serious commitment to women’s sport. Together the Club and Brydens can work towards creating the premier development pathway for young women soccer players in Australia.” said Ross.
The Sydney Uni Soccer Football Women’s Premier League championship defence will commence on Sunday 10 April, when they take on Emerging Jets at their first match at the Sydney University Football Ground.
