Sydney Uni Flames Captain Katie Ebzery has won selection into the Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL) All-Star Five.
Playing as a shooting guard/small forward throughout the season, it was the first time Ebzery has been included in the league’s best quintet.
2015/16 marked Ebzery’s sixth consecutive season with the Flames where she finished in the league’s top 10 in scoring and assists, while picking up the team’s Most Valuable Player award for a second straight year. Ebzery also recorded career highs in points, rebounds, assists and steals for Sydney Uni during the regular season as she surpassed her 220th WNBL game.
Ebzery was named small forward, alongside point guard Leilani Mitchell (Adelaide Lightning), centre Suzie Batkovic (Townsville Fire), shooting guard Sami Whitcomb (Perth Lynx) and power forward Kelsey Griffin (Bendigo Spirit).
On top of this honour, Ebzery has been named in the Australian Jayco Opals 27 player squad and continues to focus on her Olympic selection campaign to Rio.
