Beth Croft has qualified for the World Junior (under 20) Athletic Championships after winning the national title in the Steeplechase at the Australian Junior (under 20) Championships on Wednesday night.
Beth is an 18 year old in her first year of a Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) degree at Sydney Uni and is a new member of the Elite Athlete Program for athletics.
The Australian Championships, where Beth took out the national title, are currently being held in Perth from March 8th – March 13th. More than 2000 Australian junior athletes headed west for the championships.
Winning the Australian Steeplechase title means Beth has automatically qualified for the Australian Sparks team to compete in the World Junior Championships. The World Junior Championships are an IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federations) sanctioned event and will be held later this year in Bydgoszcz, Poland from July 19th – July 24th.
