Sydney University Baseball Club has two teams in contention for titles in the Sydney Winter League competition.
SUBC’s Second Grade team finished third in their division and will face fourth-placed Hawkesbury in the minor semi-final at Petersham Oval at 9am on Sunday.
The winner will move through to the final against the loser of the major semi-final between first-placed Marrickville and second-placed Petersham.
SUBC’s Third Grade team also made it through to the semi-finals by finishing minor premiers with nine wins and two losses during the competition proper.
They will meet second-placed Petersham in the major semi-final at Petersham Oval at 1pm on Saturday. The winner will progress to the grand final, while the loser will meet the winner of the minor semi-final between third-placed Hawkesbury and fourth-placed Cronulla.
The finals are scheduled for August 16 and 17, with the grand finals to be played on August 23 and 24.
Sydney University First Grade missed out on a semi-final berth after finishing fifth in the competition proper. Hawkesbury won the minor premiership, with Marrickville, Pirates and Petersham filling the next three spots.
SUBC finished fourth in the 2014 Club Championship which was won by Hawkesbury.
