Three Sydney University Boat Club rowers came home with silver medals from the recent Under 23 World Championships, held at Varese, Italy.

Nick Wheatley, Jack Hargreaves and James Medway were part of the Australian men’s eight, coached by SUBC’s Mark Prater, which finished second behind New Zealand.

Wheatley and Hargreaves are SUBC members, while Medway is a former SUBC rower who is now studying at Harvard.

The Kiwis won gold in a time of 5:28.82, ahead of Australia in 5:30.45, with the US taking bronze in 5:32.18.
