Sydney University Women’s Rowing Club has come to the rescue of those who would like to take up the sport but have never rowed.

The club has structured an eight-week Learn to Row course, which is open to Sydney University students and staff.

So, if you’re interested in rowing but have no previous experience, this is your chance.

The course includes three sessions a week, including two on-water sessions and one rowing ergometer session.

The first session is on Tuesday, July 29 and the last session will be on Sunday, September 21.

The program includes:

Tuesdays: 6:30-7:30 am or 7:30-8:30 am: Rowing ergometer, Badminton courts, Arena Sports Centre.

Thursdays: 5:30-7:30 am: Rowing, SUWRC Boathouse, bottom of Ferry Road, Glebe

Sundays: 9:00-11:00 am: Rowing, SUWRC Boathouse, bottom of Ferry Road, Glebe

The eight-week (24 coached sessions) will cost $225 + SUSF membership ($60 for students, $65 for staff), both payable at the Introduction/First Session on Tuesday, July 29 at the Arena Sports Centre.

SUWRC is one of the premier women’s rowing clubs in Australia, renowned for developing talented athletes into elite rowers. The club has a proud history of athletes representing Australia at World Rowing Championships and Olympic Games.
