Sydney University baseballers will be turning on a champagne performance at Petersham Oval this Saturday, and not just in their on-field efforts against UNSW.
The bubbly will be to celebrate Ladies Day, the annual opportunity for players to give back to the ladies around the club and express their gratitude through a day of pampering and relaxation.
All wives, girlfriends, partners, mums, aunties, grandmas, sisters and female friends are invited. There will be complimentary bubbly for ladies on arrival, along with massages, raffles, music, treats, men in tight white pants, fundraising for the Fred Hollows Foundation and, of course, three grades of baseball. As well as celebrating Ladies Day, Sydney University Baseball Club is also celebrating the retention of the University Cup which provides boasting rights for the long-running rivalry between the Cynics and UNSW.
Following the conclusion of First Grade, the Cynics will continue the celebrations at the AB Hotel, sponsors of the club.
