Sydney Uni Ultimate Frisbee Club members Alex Ladomatos, Nathan Stacey, Rob Andrews, and Yixuan Tan have helped the Colony Ultimate team to gold at the 2014 Australian Ultimate Championships, held at St. Mary’s in Sydney.
In the women’s competition, Sydney Uni’s Kim Spragg and Becky Burns picked up bronze medals with the Rogue Traders team.
The Australian Ultimate Championships combine a separate men’s and women’s competition at a single venue. It is the centrepiece of Australian ultimate frisbee.
Additionally, last weekend Sydney Uni won gold in an inter-varsity tournament run in conjunction with UNSW. The team, which will represent the university at EUGs in July, went undefeated, winning all six of their games on the day. This included a tightly contested final against UTS, with the Sydney Uni team eventually prevailing 11-9.
