Sydney University’s men’s soccer football team have recovered from a sluggish start to the 2014 season following two consecutive victories in round five and six of the SUPA IGA National Premier League Men’s Second Division.

A crushing 4-2 defeat of Bankstown Berries on Saturday April 19 (click here to view highlights), was followed up with a stirring 2-1 come from behind victory over Mounties Wanderers FC on Saturday.

The Students now sit in seventh position, but are crucially just three points from second-placed Parramatta FC. Sydney Uni take on the Northern Tigers FC at 7.30pm on Saturday night at Hensley Athletic Field, Eastgardens.

Sydney Uni’s women’s team sit in second position on the 2014 National Premier Leagues NSW Women’s First Division table following a 6-0 thumping of traditional powerhouse the Illawarra Stingrays. Former SUSF Elite Athlete Program (EAP) scholarship holder Liv Kennedy scored four goals for the Students.

Sydney Uni next take on third-placed Manly United FC on Sunday at 3pm at Cromer Park, Cromer.
