Sydney University Women’s Rugby Club (SUWRC) flanker Roisin McNulty has been appointed to the role of the Wallaroos team physio heading into the Women’s Rugby World Cup in August.
McNulty, who completed an honours degree in Sport & Exercise Science in Ireland, later obtained a Masters of Physiotherapy at the University of Sydney in 2009. She is currently undertaking a Masters of Musculoskeletal and Sports Physiotherapy at Griffiths University.
She was treasurer SUWRC in 2008 and 2009 and president from 2010-2012. McNulty also won the 2009 SUSF Sports Administrator of the Year Award at the SUSF Sports Awards.
McNulty is thrilled about the appointment and commented that this is “a big win and a reward for hard work over the past few years and the voluntary long nights and weekends!”
“I’m excited and honoured to be working with such a fantastic group of athletes” she added. “There is a lot of hard work ahead and I’m more motivated than ever to do the best job I can.”
McNulty has hung up her boots as a flanker beginning this season; however she will continue to support Sydney Uni rugby in her physio capacity. The club is incredibly proud of her achievements that demonstrate her ambition to tackle huge challenges.
