Sydney University Boat Club’s (SUBC) men’s eight crew will be hoping to make it 10 straight NSW Rowing Championship wins in a row, when the history making crew hit the water on Sunday at the Sydney International Rowing Centre, Penrith.
SUBC won the men’s eight in 2005 after a thirty year gap from their previous win in 1975, but have since been untouchable in the blue ribbon event.
Beginning on Friday afternoon, the NSW Rowing Championships will see a number of SUBC and Sydney University Women’s Rowing Club (SUWRC) members competing throughout the weekend in Elite, U23, U21, U19, open and lightweight categories with and against Australia’s top rowers.
This weekend’s Championships also acts as the national selection regatta for the Australian Team which will be selected to compete at the 2014 World Cup and will be held as a part of the National Championships from 23-30 March, also at the Sydney International Rowing Centre.
