Sydney University Athletics Club’s (SUAC) men’s team secured their third consecutive Winter Premiership, with a win over the weekend at the NSW Half Marathon Championships.

Remarkably there are still two events remaining in the Winter Premiership, with SUAC more than 70 points clear at the top of the table with only 50 points on offer for the winners of the remaining events.

The standout performer at the NSW Half Marathon Championships was SUAC’s Jack Colreavy, who won the event comfortably by a margin of nearly two minutes.

The win caps off an amazing twelve month period for the SUAC men’s team. They have managed to win every open senior title including: Australian University Games; ANSW Open Pennant; NSW State Relay Championships; NSW Club Championships; NSW State Championships; and Winter Premiership.

In the women’s event the SUAC women’s team finished second to Athletics East. SUSF Elite Athlete Program (EAP) scholarship holder Milly Clark (Bachelor Applied Science with Masters of Nutrition) continued her stellar season by winning another NSW title by more than a minute.

With two races remaining the SUAC women’s team sit atop of the Winter Premiership ladder, with a lead of just six points.

Also on Sunday, SUSF Elite Athlete Program (EAP) scholarship holder Nat Archer (Bachelor of Science) recorded a victory at the Canberra Times 10km road race. Archer recorded a massive personal best for the distance and beat home nearly 2500 entrants to win her home town fun run for the very first time.

SUAC will next compete at the NSW Marathon Championships and the Tan Relays in Melbourne.
