Sydney University Women’s Rowing Club (SUWRC) representatives Holly Lawrence, India Evans and Candice Williams will look to continue their dominance over New Zealand, as part of the Australian squad that will compete in the second round of the Under 21 Trans-Tasman series.

The three day event begins on Thursday at the International Regatta Course in Karapiro, New Zealand.

Evans and Williams will compete in the number 1 women’s pair (W2-), women’s four (W4-) and women’s eight (W8+) races, while Lawrence will take part in the lightweight women’s double scull (LW2x), women’s quad (W4X) and women’s eight (W8+) races.

Between them, these three SUWRC rowers won four races during the first round of the series held at the Sydney International Regatta Centre, Penrith in July. Click here a report.

Lawrence (Bachelor of Science) and Evans are both SUSF Elite Athlete Program (EAP) scholarship holders.

They will be joined by a further two Sydney University students – Leah Saunders competing in the women’s single scull (W1x), women’s quad (W4X) and women’s eight (W8+), and Millicent Cheetham who is the coxswain for the women’s eight.

SUWRC Assistant Coach Chris Holliday is once again a coach of the Australian team.
