A superb team effort from the Sydney Uni Velo Club (SUVelo) women’s race squad has allowed Lisa Antill to take out the King of the Mountain (KOM) and first place overall in the general classification in the Junior and Women’s Tour of Canberra.
The SUVelo women’s race squad was made up of Antill, Imogen Vize (newly crowned NSW Individual Time Trial Champion), Gina Ricardo, Yvette Amaral and Tegan Cox. The squad was assisted by Kelvin Rundle and Melissa Neumaier.
SUVelo’s Jake Grierson finished third in the U17 men’s criterium and was assited by Grierson’s Directeur Sportif Tom Petty. Gina Ricardo finished second in the women’s race.
In other cycling news, SUVelo is hosting the Clifford Chance “A Metre Matters” Ride for the Amy Gillett Foundation 2013 on Saturday August 25.
The ride, proudly sponsored by Clifford Chance, will cover a challenging 137km to Stanwell Tops and back to Centennial Park or a shorter 90km option.
The registration fee covers ride entry, exclusive ride jersey, vehicle support and service costs with all profits going toward the Amy Gillett Foundation. Why not get your friends and family involved and get them to sponsor you $1 or more for every kilometre you pedal. Time to get on your bike and get training.
