Sydney University Football Club (SUFC) has now turned their attention to the upcoming nine games and the finals that follow them, after last weekend’s bye signified the halfway point of the 2013 Sydney Rugby Union Premiership Rugby Competition.

SUFC has already tasted some strong competition in the opening rounds of the 2013 competition – Parramatta, Eastwood, Eastern Suburbs, Warringah, Penrith, Northern Suburbs, Southern Districts, Gordon and Randwick. The competition will only get tougher with the club facing the ever dominant Manly this weekend, followed by West Harbour, who currently sits fifth and Eastern Suburbs at home for Family Day on Sunday 30th June.

“Other clubs will be preparing for finals footy and building their campaigns for the pointy end of the season, it is certainly not going to get easier from here on out,” said SUFC Head Coach Chris Malone.

“The bye weekend just gone was a fantastic opportunity for our players and support staff to get away from rugby for the weekend, recharge the mind and body. Coming off a bye weekend is going to be difficult, especially against a quality opposition that we will find in Manly this weekend.”
