Sydney University Football Club’s (SUFC) 1st Grade side will face an inform Randwick outfit that have won three games on the trot at home at University No. 1 Oval this weekend.

“This is going to be a very tough game for us and we know that Randwick will be coming here for a win, not just in 1st Grade but across the grades,” said Chris Malone, SUFC’s Head Coach. “Randwick have been playing some good football in recent weeks and will come here buoyed by their form. They also have some very talented players in their side that we will need to be aware of.”

“There will be a lot of exceptional players on show with quite a few Super Rugby players playing this weekend. This is truly the breeding ground for representative footballers and the quality on show at No. 1 Oval this Saturday will prove that,” said Malone.

“Randwick were able to sneak in front of us on the Club Championship standings over the weekend due to Gordon not fielding Colts 2 and 3 sides,” said SUFC’s Director of Rugby, Jack Farrer. “Randwick will be strong across the grades; they are currently undefeated in 2nd Grade and Colts 1, sit second on the ladder in both 3rd Grade, 4th Grade and Colts 2, just below our teams.“

An exhibition rugby 10s game between SUFC and the NSW Police Wedgetails will also be held this Saturday at 2:25pm. The game is to showcase SUFC’s ongoing support of Emergency Services and for both clubs to recognise the work done by the White Ribbon Day Organisation towards stopping violence against women.
