Sydney University will look to open their NEAFL account on Saturday against an Eastlake side desperate to bounce back from a thrashing at the hands of competition front runners Queanbeyan last weekend.

Coming off the back of a defeat of their own defeat to the Hills Eagles, Sydney Uni will welcome the inclusion of Michael Higgins and Peter Dugmore.

“We have Michael Higgins debuting at NEAFL level who will give the team massive defensive pressure which will balance out the goal scoring ability of Peter Dugmore,” explained SUANFC Senior NEAFL Coach Daniel Gilmore.

Despite not playing to their full potential in the first two games of the season, Gilmore has been impressed by the continuous development of his team’s game style and is looking for more consistency in creating goal scoring opportunities.

“It’s exciting to see our game plan develop and our group gel and execute quality football. Our challenge is to do this over every minute and not let ourselves down with lapses,” said Gilmore.

Gilmore expects Eastlake to represent a great challenge to the Students playing group, but is confident that the team can come away with their first four points for season 2013 if they can execute their game plan effectively.

SUANFC supporters are encouraged to come down to Drummoyne Oval on Saturday afternoon for a 2pm kick off against Eastlake.
