SUSF Elite Athlete Program (EAP) scholarship holder Ame Barnbrook has teamed up with state team mate Matt Crawford to take out the SKUD 18s event at the Access Class Asia-Pacific Championships in Canberra over the Easter long-weekend.
The University of Sydney Bachelor of Arts & Social Sciences student, partnered with Matt Crawford, posted a 4-1 score on Sunday afternoon to finish their Championship with a two point advantage over Rob and Peter Crawford, who are also from NSW. Paralympic gold medallist Liesl Tesch, sailing with Mark Thomson, were third.
The SKUD 18 is a lead-assisted skiff with a tube-launched asymmetrical and a modern high performance stayed rig and has been a sailing event at the Paralympic Games since Beijing 2008.
