Sydney University Hockey Club (SUHC) striker Chris Boyle has been selected in the 2013 NSW under 18 men’s field hockey team as a 16 year old.

Boyle, who has played two seasons for Sydney University’s Sydney Hockey Association (SHA) first grade team, will join 17 other players from July 2-13 to compete for NSW at the 2013 National Championships in his home town of Newcastle.

The lightning fast and skillful striker was a member of last year’s Australian Schoolboys team. Chris, the brother of Sydney University women’s player Sophie Boyle, has represented his state at under 15 and under 16 All Schools level, as well as NSW CIS.

Boyle will be part of the Sydney University men’s first grade team that takes on Gordon-North Sydney on Saturday April 6 at 2:30pm at the Ryde Hockey Field. Sydney University’s women’s team is also up against Gordon-North Sydney in the first round of the Sydney Hockey Association competition, with the game beginning at 1pm.
