Sydney University Athletics Club (SUAC) athletes and SUSF Elite Athlete Program (EAP) scholarship holders Milly Clark and James Nipperess have both set personal best times running in the Briggs Memorial Meet held in Hobart over the weekend.
Nipperess (B Health Science – Physiotherapy) ran fifth in a quality 5000m field running 13.56 for the distance. The race was won by Australian Olympic rep Collis Birmingham.
In the women’s 1500m Milly Clark (Bachelor of Applied Science) finished seventh, also in a personal best time, slicing more than three seconds off her previous best.
Both athletes look to be in good shape and will contest their main event – the 3000m steeplechase – in meets to come in the next two months.
Clark is the reigning national champion, with Nipperess the national cross country champion looking to add a track title later in the year.
