Sydney University Cricket Club’s (SUCC) Director of Cricket and Head Coach Gary Whitaker will have one eye on the future as his Sydney University team takes on Adelaide University in Adelaide today (Monday).
The annual three day intervarsity match will take place at Adelaide University Oval from Monday February 11 – Wednesday February 13.
The 12 man Sydney University squad, featuring a number of SUCC Elite Development Program representatives, includes experienced Sydney Grade cricketers David Miller and Liam Robertson. Both all-rounders will hold significant keys to the outcome of the match.
Whitaker is excited about the challenge that this match will present to his young up-and-coming group of players, who arrived in Adelaide on the morning of the match.
“This is a really good challenge for this group to see which boys have the resilience to play this form of the game,” said Whitaker. “All of the boys are excited by the tour.”
Play got under way this morning at 11am.
