Even torrential rain couldn’t put a dampener on the Universities Women’s Cricket Club’s (UWCC) celebrations as they wrapped up the Sydney Cricket Association Twenty20 Minor Premiership without a ball being bowled on Sunday.
UWCC entered last weekend’s double header with a one point lead on top of the ladder, and there was no change to the competition ladder with all matches washed out as UWCC were crowned Minor Premiers.
The girls finished on top of the ladder with 44 points, one clear of second placed Campbelltown-Camden. Northern District were third with 37 points, while Sydney rounded out the top four with 31 points, just one clear of fifth placed St George-Sutherland.
UWCC face Sydney at Raby Oval 1 at 11am this Sunday. The winner of that match will face either Campbelltown-Camden or Northern District in the Twenty20 Grand Final on the same day at 3pm.
