Five Sydney University athletes have been selected in the NSW Rowing team that will compete at the 2013 Australian Youth Olympic Festival (AYOF) in January.
Peter Koster (B. Liberal Arts & Science) and Ben Scott (B. Commerce) are the two Sydney University Boat Club representatives selected in the NSW men’s team. Koster and Scott are both SUSF Elite Athlete Program (EAP) scholarship holders.
Holly Lawrence (B. Science), India Evans (B. Applied Science {Exercise & Sports Science}) and Emma Thomas are Sydney University Women’s Rowing Club (SUWRC) representatives. Lawrence and Evans are scholarship holders.
All five Sydney University athletes will compete for their state – in the sport of rowing all six Australian states, along with New Zealand and Great Britain make up the eight teams competing at the AYOF.
The rowing competition will take place on January 19 and 20 at the Sydney International Regatta Centre.
Rowing is one of 17 sports being contested at the 2013 AYOF, which will see 1700 athletes in action from 30 countries.
