This Saturday the Sydney University men’s and women’s rowing eights will compete in Sydney’s oldest harbour regatta, the Gold Cup Eights on the Lane Cove River.
In this, the 129th Gold Cup, the university crews will face strong opposition in the men’s event from Sydney Rowing Club and schools, Shore and St Joseph’s.
In the women’s eights the Mosman Rowing Club eight will be formidable favourites for Sydney University to overcome.
Sydney University men’s and women’s open eights have won the last three Gold Cup’s.
